Curated by Didier Claes, Africa Legacy brings together more than 250 classical and contemporary works from private and institutional collections in Brussels. Presented at the Espace Vanderborght with the support of the City of Brussels and the Congolese Cultural Centre, the exhibition offers an immersive journey through the ages, revealing the continuity of African forms, symbols and imagery.

From classical art to contemporary creations, visitors discover a continent in motion, whose visual cultures have continually nourished, inspired and transformed the global history of art.

Above all, Africa Legacy invites visitors to look, feel and be moved by the beauty of the works, whilst affirming Africa’s essential place in the universal history of artistic creation.
