Wasia Project is ‘Coming Through’! The British alt-pop band is taking their long-awaited debut album “Nocturne” on tour, and a stop in Belgium is a must. Olivia Hardy and William Gao transform coming-of-age angst into danceable, raw pop tunes that you can experience live on Sunday 22 November 2026 at La Madeleine in Brussels. Tickets are available from Friday 12 June at 10am via livenation.be.
Wasia Project consists of sister Olivia Hardy and brother William Gao. The duo made their debut in 2019 with the single ‘Why Don’t U Love Me’, but it wasn’t until 2022 that their first EP, “How Can I Pretend?”, was released. Things really took off with the hits ‘Petals On The Moon’ and ‘Ur So Pretty’. That second track was part of the soundtrack for the popular Netflix series “Heartstopper”. Since that major breakthrough, their loyal fanbase has continued to grow. Although they are known as an indie pop duo, with “Nocturne” they are definitively moving away from that label. The brand-new album is released on 18 September and blends the classical background of Olivia (violin) and William (piano) with dance, pop, modern soul and electronic music. That eclectic mix creates a sound that is darker, rawer and more emotional than their early work. The album captures the coming-of-age struggles of a generation of young adults and reflects the lost Covid years of a youth that lives constantly online. The duo’s Chinese heritage is also subtly woven into the music. This layered quality makes ‘Nocturne’ a melancholic yet hopeful soundtrack for an entire generation. Singles ‘Bleeding Gold’ and ‘2515’ are already making an impression. Don’t miss the chance to see this groundbreaking duo perform in an intimate setting! See you on Sunday 22 November at La Madeleine.
Tickets are available from Friday 12 June at 10am.
